This lovely pendant has a gorgeous amethyst at its centre. A semiprecious gemstone, amethyst is a variety of quartz and is the birthstone for February. Ancient Egyptians used amethyst in jewellery and the Greeks believed that wearing it would prevent the owner from getting drunk!
This intricately-wrapped pendant measures 77x31mm. It is wrapped in copper which is darkened and then polished to compliment the stone and the design.
