Bright vs Antiqued Finish
A popular technique on wire-wrapped pieces is an antique finish. Used on raw metal (copper or silver), an antique finish is an artificially-created effect that gives an old-fashioned, or antique, appearance. This is an appearance which is desirable to many jewellery lovers.
If the finish is left raw, it will naturally tarnish over time and have a similar antique effect where the highlights of the piece can be polished back to a shine but the depths of the piece will remain dark.
