Australian opals can be found in several locations around Australia and are no doubt the royalty of opals from around the world. The Australian white opal (D) was cut & polished by myself. Item B is an Australian opal doublet, which means that a layer of opal has been attached to a dark backing to bring out the bright colours. Items A and C are Welo opals. Welo opals were first discovered in Ethiopia in 1994 and are an affordable option for those wanting to own a beautiful opal.
