A fantastic pale blue and white larimar stone is the feature of this pendant. Set securely in 925 sterling silver, with a lovely minimalistic decorative edge, this pendant is simple and beautiful.
Larimar is a mineral called pectolite and only comes from a limited deposit in the Dominican Republic. In 1974, Miguel Méndez found it on the beach at Barahona. The native people of the region thought it came from the sea, because of its look, so, taking his daughter’s name Larissa and combining it with the Spanish word for sea, ‘mar’, he named the stone Larimar.
