This stripy blue/green labradorite is gorgeous! The stripes are caused by an effect called ‘twinning‘, where two planes within the stone are aligned. The flashy colour you see in labradorite is caused by light reflecting off these planes.
The stone is held securely in several layers of detailed wirework, which has been woven by hand to create an intricate frame. The frame has then been antiqued and polished to compliment the stone.
