Botswana agate is mostly found in Botswana and is famous for its banding in shades of white, black, grey, brown and occasionally salmon and pink. It’s a form of chalcedony and the banding has been formed by waves of slow-moving lava over stone. It has been used since ancient times as jewellery pieces, because of its lovely colours and hardness.
